taxes

Yeah, I know. I've been shirking my blogging duties. Sorry. It's been a very busy week.

I was driving along a couple of days ago, and the car ahead of me had this license plate (I blurred the numbers for their anonymity). I thought it was kind of funny that it expressed Taxation Without Representation. I figured we were all taxed about that way, and they were making a statement.

A little research, and I found out that DC just wants some elected officials in Congress. Nothing will really change, but they'll be able to feel better about spending some more [tax] money on a congress-person.

I've held the opinion for a long time that I don't mind being taxed. Just look at all the great things that taxes get us: Um, like Billion dollar airplanes. Come to think of it, there's not much that my taxes go toward that seem to really benefit us-except as an afterthought or by chance while the bigwigs are livin' high on the hog. Really there must be something good from taxes, but I can't think of it right now. Oh well, maybe I'll go get the part of the airplane that I paid for one day.
